Contemporary Flamenco

Dave Ellis

Dave Ellis is one of Australia’s most esteemed and experienced double bass players. His numerous credits span both the jazz and classical fields and include Peggy Lee, George Benson, Al Jarreau, Sir George Martin and many others. He has played two Royal Command Performances for the Queen of England. His virtuosity on the instrument provides Arrebato Ensemble with the excitement and depth that has become prevalent in modern flamenco bass playing with the advent of jazz-trained players such as Carles Benavent.
