Contemporary Flamenco

Andrew Poniris

Andrew Poniris has been a working musician for over two decades, playing electric guitar, bass and saxophone in various rock and jazz settings. He was a founding member of Johnny Demon and the Devils.

In 1997, he began collaborating with Greg Alfonzetti on flamenco music after discovering the passion and virtuosity of the great Jorge Pardo and Carles Benavent. Since then, he has worked on various projects with Greg, including the theatre productions with Antonio Vargas such as House Plus which was performed at Sydney’s Seymour Centre. To Arrebato Ensemble he brings the powerful style of his saxophones and chromatic harmonica.
